Mars, Twix, Snickers and Maltesers no longer OK for vegetarians
Popular chocolate bars Mars, Bounty, Milky Way, Snickers and Twix, as well as Minstrels, Maltesers choclate sweets, will no longer be suitable for vegetarians, because Masterfoods the company who make the products, said it had started to use rennet, which comes from the stomachs of calves.

Masterfoods say this has happened because they changed the sourcing of the ingredients used, however, the Vegetarian Society said the move was "incomprehensible" and that they are "extremely disappointed" by this news.

MasterfoodsMasterfoods admit they began using rennet from 1 May 2007, and non-affected products had a "best before date" up to 1 October.

Rennet, which curdles milk, is used in the production of whey, and the ice cream versions of all Masterfoods' chocolate bars will also no longer be suitable for vegetarians.

Paul Goalby, corporate affairs manager of Masterfoods is reported to have said: "If the customer is an extremely strict vegetarian, then we are sorry the products are no longer suitable, but a less strict vegetarian should enjoy our chocolate."

What's the difference? Dairy KILLS calves. You either eat the stomach lining or someone else does. You payed for the calves death REGARDLESS because you supported dairy. Animals have to be impregnated in order to produce breastmilk for their young. How is it that vegetarians are against even eating a trace of an animal's dead body because the animal died yet they will pay people to artificially inseminate a cow, take away her baby about 24 hours after birth, and making the baby live alone in a box for a few weeks before being murdered for veal? If you won't eat rennet why support veal? Why not go vegan?
