The
film tells the story of Dylan's arrival in New York's Greenwich Village
in the 60s from his hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota and the first stage
of his career as a ballad, folk and rock musician.
It
includes scenes from his performance at the Newport Folk Festivals in
1963 and 1965 and from the historical concert at the Free Trade Hall in
Manchester in 1966, where he broke the folk tradition by appearing with
an electric guitar.
Dylan, who is to end his current tour of Europe in Ireland on the 27th November, is promoting his latest album ‘Love and Theft'.
