Bob Dylan documentary to be shown on French television
BobDylanMartin Scorsese's ‘No Direction Home', a documentary about the life of the American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, is to be aired on French television on Wednesday, 9th November on Canal+.

The three-and-a-half hour film contains previously unseen concert footage, photos, studio recording sessions, manuscripts, interviews with musicians and fans and outtakes from the author of ‘World Gone Wrong'.

The film tells the story of Dylan's arrival in New York's Greenwich Village in the 60s from his hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota and the first stage of his career as a ballad, folk and rock musician.

It includes scenes from his performance at the Newport Folk Festivals in 1963 and 1965 and from the historical concert at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester in 1966, where he broke the folk tradition by appearing with an electric guitar.

Dylan, who is to end his current tour of Europe in Ireland on the 27th November, is promoting his latest album ‘Love and Theft'.
