President of France Nicolas Sarkozy left US TV interview
French President Nicolas Sarkozy refused to carry on with a televised interview on American TV when he was questioned about his recent divorce from his wife Cecilia.

Nicolas Sarkozy , who is known for being reluctant to talk about his personal life, walked out on interviewer Leslie Stahl.

Nicolas Sarkozy Earlier on in the interview Nicolas Sarkozy referred to his press secretary as an "imbecile" for arranging the interview with CBS's 60 Minutes show.

Nicolas Sarkozy’s divorce was made public on 18 October, but he has always refused to talk about his private life and before he left he said: "If I had something to say about Cecilia I would certainly not say it here."

President Nicolas Saekozy was clearly losing his patience and he said: "I don't have the time. I have a big job to do ... I'm not angry, I'm in a hurry."

"Bon courage," was the final remark Nicolas Sarkozy made.

Leslie Stahl made me embarrassed to be an American. I applaud the President of France as he demonstrated courage to stand up and leave that inappropriate interview. I honestly can say that my opinion of France and their people has been elevated because of this man. Moreover, although I am embarrassed about Ms. Stahl's inquiry into the personal life of a foreign dignitary, I am not surprised since it's sensationalism and not news that 60 Minutes depends on for ratings. Hopefully, President Sarkozy will not change his positive attitude toward America because of the "National Enquirer" style of journalism portrayed by Ms. Stahl.
Thumbs down to CBS, and I won't be wasting an hour on Sunday night anymore as I've really had enough fluff and would rather watch real news. Hopefully other viewers will agree!
