
Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland was not in court as his lawyer, Blair Berk, arranged the deal on his behalf.
Kiefer Sutherland has issued a statement with an apology for his "poor judgement" and the "distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers".
Kiefer Sutherland’s sentence is made up of 30 days for driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, and a further 18 days for violating his probation.
Kiefer Sutherland was also given a six-month driving ban, and ordered to attend alcohol education classes for 18 months as well as a weekly alcohol therapy session for six months.
Kiefer Sutherland first found fame for his roles in films such as The Lost Boys, Young Guns and Flatliners.
