David Icke is too controversial for UK Urban Music Awards
Author, conspiracy theorist and public speaker David Icke has been told he will no longer be making an appearance at the UK Urban Music Awards Ceremony in London on 3 November.

The UK Urban Music Awards, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary and is the largest annual urban music event in Britain, has decided to drop David Icke from presenting an award at the ceremony
.

David IckeTV commissioning editors were worried about the reaction from the sponsors of the event due to the controversial opinions the former TV sports commentator and footballer has.

In response to this, David Icke said: “I think it’s so sad that someone’s views should decide if they hand over an award to a musician.”

David Icke added: “And it blatantly exposes claims about a ‘free society’ as the nonsense that they are and always have been.”

The shoe company Kickers is the main sponsor of the UK Urban Music Awards.

More than 1,200 artists, DJs, producers, promoters, record label bosses, and other media celebrities, as well as fans of this genre of popular music, will attend the UK Urban Music Awards. Past winners of the UK Music Awards have included Craig David, Goldie and Beverley Knight.
