Punk rock legends the Sex Pistols to play re-union gig

Punk rock pioneers and legends The Sex Pistols will be playing a gig to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of their classic album Never Mind the Bollocks.

Original Sex Pistols John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock will reform to play together for the concert at the Brixton Academy in London on 8 November.

Sex PistolsThe Sex Pistols, who are widely considered the band who really started the punk rock movement, split up in 1978, but later reunited for a world tour in 1996 and they also played together in 2003.

Never Mind The Bollocks... Here's The Sex Pistols, which included God Save the Queen, was regarded as very controversial when it was released back in October 1977.

God Save the Queen had been banned by the BBC and ended up reaching number two in the official charts at the time of the Queen's silver jubilee, although many would argue that it should have been the number one and that the chart was manipulated.

This time, NME magazine is campaigning to get a re-issued God Save the Queen to number one in the UK, where it should have been at the time of its original release.

The tickets for the Sex Pistols gig cost £37.50 and are on sale at 0900 BST on Friday.
