Producer Phil Spector’s murder trial jury must decide a verdict
The jury who had failed to reach a verdict in the trial of legendary music producer Phil Spector, who is charged with murder, must return to court.

The jurors, who are nine men and three women and who had been in service since March, had retired on Monday after being given final legal instructions by Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler, but now they must reach a decision soon.

Phil SpectorPhil Spector, 67, who came to fame with his "Wall of Sound" recordings and hits including You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' by the Righteous Brothers and the Ronettes' Be My Baby, has denied shooting actress Lana Clarkson, 40, at his home in Los Angeles after a night out in February 2003.

Phil Spector’s defence have put forward the claim that Lana Clarkson had committed suicide by shooting herself after she had gone to the producer’s house.

Lana Clarkson’s career as an actress had taken a downturn and she had been working as a hostess at the House of Blues venue in LA before her death.

Phil Spector could face between 15 years and life in jail if he is found guilty.
