Yoko Ono’s John Lennon peace tower for Iceland
Yoko Ono, the widow of the late Beatle John Lennon, will be unveiling a peace tower dedicated to him in Reykjavik, Iceland. The unveiling ceremony will be a special tribute to John Lennon on 9 October, which would have been his 67th birthday.

The light tower, which is designed by Yoko Ono is engraved with "imagine peace" in 24 different languages.

John LennonJohn Lennon had predicted 40 years ago that the peace tower would eventually become a reality.

100,000 wishes from people from all over the world are going to be put in capsules and buried around the tower like seeds planted for peace.

Yoko Ono, 73, chose Iceland as the location for the tower because "it is a very unique, eco-friendly country,” she explained and she added: "I consider myself very fortunate to see the dream my husband and I dreamt together become reality."

Very many peace campaigner friends have been invited to join Yoko Ono for the ceremony being held in October.
