“Queen of Mean’s” dog Trouble inherits $12m
Leona Helmsley, who was a New York hotelier and real estate billionaire known to the US media as “Queen of Mean,” has left $12m (£5.97m) to her pet dog Trouble, it has been reported.

The dog received more than anyone else in Leona Helmsley’s will, which includes the provision that when Trouble dies, she is to be buried alongside her past owner and her late husband Harry in their mausoleum.

Leona HelmsleyLeona Helmsley, who died last week, was known for her very tough approach to business.

Leona Helmsley’s toughness extended to her dealings with her own family and grandchildren Craig and Meegan Panzirer who received nothing in her will.

However, two other grandchildren, David and Walter Panzirer, were left $5m each s long as they visit their father's grave at least once each year.

The money for looking after Trouble was left in the hands of her brother, Alvin Rosenthal, who himself received $10m inheritance, and her chauffeur got $100,000.

Leona and Harry Helmsley earned their billions through a company, which managed some of New York's most well known buildings including the Empire State Building, as well as many hotels across America.
