If you are looking for a luxury holiday in France, you are going to be really spoilt for choice when it comes to places to stay. Whether you plan to spend some time in the capital or a secluded countryside location, there are plenty of exquisite hotels, chateaux or private villas which you really do have to consider renting in some of the most beautiful regions of the country.

One of my favourite hotels in Paris has to be Pavillon de la Reine in the Place des Vosges. I particularly love the Marais and the fact that this hotel is so close to La Place de la Bastille as well, makes it the perfect choice for anyone who wishes to spend some quality time in a superb spa hotel. It is really well located in the heart of Paris, close to La Tour d’Argent and many other first class eateries. There are great cafés and restaurants all within walking distance of Pavillion de la Reine as well as some of the best antique shops to be found in the city.

If you are planning a trip to Provence, there are lots of beautiful places to choose from. I really love Avignon and the surrounding areas. It is here you will find the glorious Chateau de Massillan. Sitting in over 20 acres of vines close to the little village of Uchaux, this gorgeous chateau offers a holiday of a lifetime away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The whole aspect of the Chateau is incredible and with a superb pool and as much luxury as you would ever need, it is the perfect place to get away from it all.

The Dordogne has attracted visitors for decades and I have spent many happy summers in the region enjoying the food, the wine and the glorious atmosphere of the Périgord. The area of Languedoc-Roussillon is exquisite and the Clos du Léthé in the Hameau de St Médiers has to be one of the nicest luxury hotels in the region. Surrounded by vineyards and apricot orchards, this exquisite place offers an infinity pool and some of the most aromatic lavender gardens I have ever had the pleasure of walking through. From the outside this lovely building still has its original charm, but inside the décor is wonderfully contemporary and truly luxurious.

If you want to enjoy the northern regions of France and want to get to know Normandy and its gastronomic delights then the Normandy Barrière in Deauville is the perfect base to stay at. This lovely traditional Normandy building really is so typical of northern France. The food is exceptionally good as are all the facilities, which include a really wonderful swimming pool. Deauville has attracted visitors for decades with the race course and of course the famous casino that people travel to from all over the world.

I love to travel to France and on the odd occasion we have stayed at some of the best hotels in the various regions we have visited. I have to say that I have never been disappointed with our choice of luxury hotels. We have fond memories of the times we spent just lounging around by a pool being served cocktails on a warm summers evening, it makes such a wonderful relaxing holiday surrounded by such lovely things in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
